Luis J. Echarte currently serves as Senior Financial Consultant at GSI Management, providing financial and investment consulting services in Miami, Florida. For more than 30 years, he was Vice President of International Relations at Grupo Salinas. He also served as Director of the Grupo Salinas Family Office and mentored and coached senior executives across the Group.

Within Grupo Salinas, TV Azteca, and Grupo Elektra, he held senior leadership roles including Corporate Vice President and CFO, and he led Investor Relations and Sustainability for more than 29 years. Mr. Echarte served as CEO of Azteca America TV Network and founded and led the Azteca America Foundation.

Over the course of his career at Grupo Salinas, Echarte played an active role on the boards of directors and advisory boards of various firms and institutions, including Purpose Financial USA, Grupo Salinas, Grupo Elektra, TV Azteca, The Aspen Institute’s Latino and Society Program, and Northern Trust Bank of Florida, among other brokerage and financial institutions in Mexico. He remains a member of the Chief Executives’ Organization (CEO) and the Young & World Presidents' Organization (YPO-WPO).

Prior to joining Grupo Salinas, he also served as President and CEO of Bacardi Imports, Inc., where he introduced multiple new products that helped diversify the company in the North American market—earning recognition from The Wall Street Journal as one of the best new products of 1986.

Earlier in his career, he was President and CEO of Echarte Development Co. in Florida, where he built and managed major real estate developments—more than 3,000 residential housing units.

Mr. Echarte has authored three books that draw on lessons from his personal and professional journey: Starting Over: A Way of Life, inspired by his experience as a cancer survivor, which recounts his path from leaving Cuba as a refugee to navigating the business world; Finding Balance in a Changing World, which explores the importance of coaching and the skills needed to excel in today’s workplace; and My Grandfather Echarte’s Havana, which tells the story of his grandfather’s career as a Cuban architect and influential public figure.
