There are moments in life when we must stop to reflect.

THE SELFISHNESS OF SUCCESS

I recently watched a well done, and somewhat alarming video that talks about the great social difference that exists in Mexico today, the hate speeches and the lack of empathy among people. I finished watching it and I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. It tells us everything that is wrong in our country, and it makes us feel part of it, but it offers no solution.

I came to the conclusion that this division and selfishness make us think that to stand out we need others not to, and we forget that by helping others to be successful, we --also-- nurture our own success.

I think we have to stop focusing on ourselves, and on the people that share our tastes or way of thinking, and instead, make the effort to listen, talk to, and understand those that think differently, in order to attain success.

We will not have anything until we focus on achieving the common good. Only by working together can we achieve an exponential growth: no great change in history has been made by only one person.
